Venice, 1641, an egyptian musician arrives on the wharf of the Schiavonis. Benedetto is waiting for him, he just published his third book of “Musiche varie a voce sola”.
Claudio Monteverdi, for the creation of his “L’incoronazione di Poppea” in the teatro Santi Giovani e Paolo is going to borrow his marvelous “Pur ti miro”. He is happy and eager too meet this famous oud player, virtuoso and composer as well, whose reputation had already crossed the Mediterranean Sea.
One will discover a music slowly moving away from scales towards more harmonic forms, the other will find the subtilness of micro tonal intonation enriching the most sofisticated musical modes. Together they will imagine a music without fences, beautiful and soft, projected out of time “Su l’onda d’amore”.
